Why are honda's engines so loud
I don't get it, why are they some damn loud. All other cars (eclpse, GTi) are all quite, my GRs you can hear screamin loud and clear. I am not complaining but am just wondering...

what part of your car is more noisy than others?
intake noise?
the fact that when you have a short ram with a filter on there, well you have about 3' from the outside to inside of your cylinders, on most cars the distance is a little greater, and they generally don't put short ram intakes on there.
get an older car with a big V8 and a carb, just with an air filter on there you can hear the engine roar up, as the RPMs get higher it gets louder, however the redline is lower on big V8s, so it doesn't get quite as loud.
exhaust? put a straight pipe on anything and it will get loud. (essintially, most of the mufflers for hondas are straight through design with baffles to help muffle the noise a little.
anyway, even with nothing modified our cars are pretty loud, this is due to the fact that A: there is little to no sound deadening matterial between it and us, and B: high revs make noise.

Any car with small displacement engine is going to be loud for the same speed that you are driving. Due to higher rev.
That's why luxury cars have big engine. You think those old businessmen like to play catch with the cops everyday? They just want to stay at 2000rpm and listen to their CD.
