Just get a real deal DA arm rest or even a JDM one.

I love my GS-R arm rest, even has cup holders, too bad I broke them.

I don't.
Try a junk yard, maybe, but they'd likely be picked clean already.

Try calling some Japanese importers close to you.

That's how I found mine, actually a total stroke of luck that the owner of the yard is a neighbor and told me they had just got an auto 92 in, went up and stripped a bunch of stuff off it for $60 total including the armrest!

Look on ebay. They seem to always have them in. Last i checked there were 2 of them on there. It looks as though the Prelude armrest may fit as well. It's a bit smaller but still looks great.

Start searching, many people in your situation! I highly doubt if they find one they are going to give up first dibs on it to you. Search ebay, craigslist, local j-yards, it's more of a game of luck, and a little of a game of having the cash to spend when one comes along.

You have a rare sort of arm rest..your talking about the one thats fitted into the seat itself, yes? Not the most popular item, but still rare.

Is the JDM armrest the longer thin bodied one as Japan doesn't use the auto seat belts?

My armrest is the USDM optional one, but mine didn't come with cupholders and there appears to be no breaking of parts inside it or even room for them.

What I do know is, you can find late model Accord, too. like 90-94 I believe..they use the same armrest as the DA's...Look at the CRX's, too.

thanks for the suggestions. i saw an accord armrest the same tan color as my interior on ebay and it got me wanting one like it have in the gsr. i just wanted to know if anyone had put another model's in the da with those attached seatbelts. don't want to order one and have it not fit in between the seats!
i work @ a bodyshop,so i know all the parts guys and have buddies at every junkyard watchin out for me. just started this quest- i'll be driving the da more cuz it's winter and technically, she's my 'beater car' -so why not be comfortable- right?

I have two armrests. Supposively they are for the DA's, but the bolting brackets are different. Didn't notice until after I had already bought the second one.

The one that came with my car when I bought it, '93 LS-S (special edition), doesn't fit very well because one side of the bracket is curved and one side is straight. Because of that, it doesn't hug the center console very well. The other armrest I came acrossed and picked up for $40 (black leather too, matches my black leather seats), has two curved brackets which hugs the center console perfectly.

Now, I'm confused on which one is the real one. Maybe they both are. I don't know. I'm assuming the one that came with my car is the real one because everything in and out of the car is all original. Trust me, I've look the car over pretty well. Seems like the car has never been taken apart before. All the interior and most exterior screws and clips have no signs of ware from previous removal. Turns out, the car was even bought brand new from the local Acura dealership back in '93. I'm just assuming this one is because everything in the car is so clean and original. BTW, just bought the car eariler this month.

Can anyone with an armrest tell me which one is which? I'll try to post pictures if needed to show what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance.

I think you got ripped on the black one. I had a guy try to sell that one to me on T-I.
I used to have a real one so I know how it looks like, but I thought his was a JDM one. (It was a homemade one)
The JDM one looks almost identical to an optional OEM one.

Both brackets should be straight down at a slight angle. No curves.

FYI it doesn't bolt down to your center console. It bolt to the metal hump in your car around the rear ashtray area. You'll have to rip up your carpet, and drill some holes. (I've heard of people using self tapping screws as well)

Before you mount the arm rest be sure to do a test fit so that you have good hand brake clearance.
Next you will need to mark the area of carpet that your going to cut at. Just cut some flaps so that you don't hack at your carpet. Should you decide to sell you'll want to keep the arm rest. And the carpet can then be covered again.

Be sure to mount the armrest behind the ashtray or just slightly over it. I made the mistake of puting it over hand brake area and now I have limited access to raising it.
Yes, self tapping screw also work, be sure to apply some thread lock so that they won't back out. Be careful, too, not to use overly long screws or you could drill into the exhaust pipe (I didn't do this, but merely as a precaution from experience)

Thank you StokelesS_g2 and DA9_DAD for your tips.

The black leather armrest that I got for $40, if it's homemade, who ever made it is damn good. I mean, everything is identical to the one that came with the car. The size, the top cover, the bottom base, all the screws, and hinges. It even has the cup holder inside. This led me to believe that it must be an OEM one too. Even the leather looks and feels like it's the same material that of the leather seats. Again, the only difference that I can tell is the bolting bracket.

Good to know that the armrest is bolted to the metal hump behind the console and not the console itself. That's probably why the original armrest didn't fit very well because the previous owner bolted the armest to the center console. It wasn't very stable and it was in the way of the hand brake. Now there are 4 screw holes on the center console.

Thanks again guys. I'll try to fit them later on today or sometime next week and post some pics.
