I just bought a 93 hatch with a d15 and cant stand how slow it is! I was wondering what everbodys opininon was to buidling my d15 or just swapping a b series... would i make good power with a d series or is it not worth it! Any advice would be great or if anybody has a cheap b series that they are looking to sell! thank you!

only real way to make power with the d series is to boost it. If you wanna stay N/A get a b series, or H

It's honestly just according to what you would want.. do you have a d15 vtec or d15 non vtec?? If you have the money and would like a single cam to stay in the car, you could buy a z6 and build it.. Or you could swap it and build a b series... it's all about the money mainly..

I'd switch the d15 for a d16a6/z6/y8 and throw a t3 turbo on. Parts are going to be a lot cheaper for the d series.
If you decide to go B Series i have a b18b from a 94 teg that i would let go cheap.($150) Located in Hanover, PA...

well you could put a t3 turbo on it and boost it on stock internals but have it tuned for it.. it's really just according to how much money you want to spend.

You can make about 200-220whp on a d16 with stock internals and a good tune.

I've rocked both b's and d's. I personally like working with the underdog.

If you stick with the D, boost it...I think it's a waste to build an N/A SOHC IMO.Now if you went B,H, or K I would build it all motor (Cause boost on a DOHC can be expensive) It all really depends on your budget. I think you'll be more then happy with a DOHC motor.

I'd probably swap in a LS motor, you can find some for cheap and notice the difference.
