Engine swap not running! I need some help!
i have a 96 accord lx that originally had an f22b2. i just swapped in an obd1 f22b. i swapped the throttle body, oil pump and crank sensor, distributor, and exhaust manifold. i replaced the timing belt, balance shaft belt and water pump while everything was apart.
*im reusing the original wiring harness and ecu.
i got it all together and went to start it and it cranks but will not start. i checked for spark at the coil by pulling the wire off the distributor cap and holding it near a ground. it sparks only once right at the start of when it cranks, then does not continue to spark.
im not sure of where this one wire connector goes. it looks like a ground so this is how i had it grounded:

i ran out of time at the shop so i didnt get to check for a spark with these wires not grounded.
any thoughts on why it would only spark once. and any thoughts on what that connector/ground is, and if it should be grounded to the engine or to the body? im not sure if it should be grounded to the engine or not because i may be creating a ground loop. where should i start?

ok i figured out why i wasnt getting any spark. i didnt install the right crank sprocket when i swapped the oil pumps so the crank sensor was not reading anything. i had installed the crank sproket that didnt have the little tabs for the crank sensor to read. so that problem is taken care of.
so now i have a new problem. i think its ignition timing. when i try to start the car it cranks and starts for about half a second and then dies. i think it may have something to do with the distributor i swapped over from the original f22b2 engine. the distributor on the original engine has an external coil and the distributor from the new f22b is an internal coil. this is a pic of the distributor from the f22b:

this distributor has 3 slotted bolt holes where the original f22b2 distributor has only 2 slottle bolt holes. is there any way i can swap the metal base on the distributors? any input?
