Default At the last part. Balancer belt and TDC

In the helms manual, it is kind of confusing.

When putting on the balancer belt, does the timing belt need to be at TDC?

Also, I was curious, why does the balancer shaft have to be lined up with the maintenance bolt? Does the front and rear have to work in harmony thus lining them up? I'm just trying to understand why so I can visualize the inner parts better.

Last question, if I tighten the crank bolt as best I can, you think it would be fine till I drive 15 miles to the dealership? They are really cool with me and are going to torque all my high torque parts to spec for free.

Thanks guys.

yes you need the timing belt at tdc while putting a bolt in the maintenance hole to line up the balancer belt......

and I would deff. use a cheater bar to tighten the crank pulley down even if i was just cranking the engine ......

yes, cylinder #1 needs to be at TDC when installing the balancer belt. The front balancer shaft has a mark on it and needs to be lined up with the mark on the block. The rear balancer needs to be aligned using a bolt in the maintenance hole.

Thanks for the very quick replies. I'm going to use my torque gun to try to tighten the bolt. Is there anyway to do it by hand if you don't have a way to stop the pulley from moving?
