camber kit help
I have a 00 civic si, question is about camber kits. I have it lowered on tanabe springs about 1.5 front and 1.75 in the rear, so im thinking i will need a camber kit...right..... are all the camber kits for the 99-00 civics the same, will a kit for an ex fit my si. thanks for the help everyone
I would think it fit since 96-00 civics have almost identical chassis.
But as camber goes, is your goal to achieve negative cambers? Because normally with a drop being only about 1.5 to 1.75 a camber kit is not needed. I recommend you save your money for now and hold off on the camber kit. Drive it for a while and see if the insides of your tires are being more worn out than the outside. Of course check the tires before you install the springs to make sure the tires are currently having an even wear-pattern. After the installation of the springs drive it for a while and check here and there to see if the inside is getting bald more than the outside.
Cambers are needed for cars that is lowered to a "slammed" or close to a slammed status. I'm using Eibach Pro kit on my 94 Civic CX and the drop amount is about the same and my tires wear very evenly.

For the rears, I say it fits. For the front. I would give it a 98% chance of fitting also. I'm saying this because I have dealt with EG and Integras and despite the trim, they are all identical body wise. So I would assume Honda would make the EK the same design with each other.

Camber is not what wears tires out. You can run negative camber all day long with out having a problem. The problem comes in when people lower their car and do not get an alignment and have the tow fixed. If the tow is aligned you will not have a problem running negative camber, and will not see a difference in tire wear.
I was just going to say the same as the above post. First reply on the new system and I didn't see where you can quote a previous post. I would be more concerned with your toe adjustment as far as tire wear is related to lowering your car. However front camber kits for Civics 96-00 are the same.
do the factory control arms have any adjustments, to fix the tow. it was only dropped like 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear. So last question can i get an alignment with oem equipment or do i need a camber kit
The camber is non-adjustable on 96-00 civics. I wouldn't say you need a camber kit for the amount of drop your doing. You can shim the rears without purchasing a kit also.
Toe is adjusted via the tie rods.

go to a brake shop tell them u need a alignment, boom 40 dollar later its done! and make sure tell them to print out the sheet shows ur camber and toe before and after, and
drive ur car a week before u get a alignment, so the springs will settle and stuff
i would say no need for camber kit for ur drop, just pop in 1 washer at the tie rode end ppoint
