You just gotta bassically slide hammer it in there without pulling the driveshaft so far back it falls apart. You kind gotta ram it in there.

Your probably fighting the snap ring. Make sure the snap ring is not oval shaped, it should be round. You probably just need to hit it harder with a rubber mallet.

I guess in theory you don't need it, but I have always used it.

I put a piece of wood 2X4 on the hub end of the axle and hit it with sledge hammer, while trying to make sure the axle and hub are level.

Manufactures are cheap, if they didn't have to waste 1 cent on that snap ring, they wouldn't have put it in. I strongly suggest you keep it.

ive noticed it helps ALOT to grease the axles really well!
grease the axles oil seal and the whole shaft.. grease also helps hold that snap ring centered.
once i greased mine up they slide right in place!

Yeah! Lube it up!!!

First make sure the end of the axle is square with the trans, then try and twist the axle a bit while lightly pushing in in to the tranny until you can feel the splines lining up, then "just tap it in."

I always just use the spindle to "hammer" the axle in since I undo the upper ball joint when I take axles out
