Does anyone know if 55 watt HID's are too much for the stock housing on a 5th gen prelude? I used 35 before, but wanted to know if 55 is too strong. Thanks

no, I meant stock housing, which means everything in a stock headlight. I don't plan on spending hundreds on dollars on projectors.

 

stock bulbs are 55W, so yes, other 55W bulbs are fine.

They won't be too hot, they actually run cooler than halogen bulbs at the same wattage. BUT the problem is, those HID bulbs will scatter so much light because you don't have the proper housing for them, it will blind everyone on the road and you'll probly get tickets for it and they'll make you take them out. 55w is overkill, all you need is a 35w HID setup, and even that might blind people.

Just aim them correctly and you will be ok. Though they will not pass inspections so make sure to keep your stock system as much intact as you can. You will have to swap in the stockies for inspection time.
