Black 6th gen interior for the hatches were available overseas only. For the coupes overseas, they didn't get black. So you would need to paint or dye the panels.

In fact, none of the EK cars over here came with black interior. The closest you would get is the dark gray or charcoal colored interior. It is possibly to paint the interior, but the problem with this is that it won't come out "smooth" like the stock panels are unless you fiberglass them. Vinyl was not made to be painted. Also, you have to properly prep the piece otherwise the paint will orange peel or just plain peel off. The correct paint is needed to, as you need something that can flex.

I've noticed a few people seem to think that the '99-'00 Si came with a black interior, but it's Dark Gray (Classy Gray) just like plenty of other '96-'00 coupes and hatches (all '98-'00 hatches).

You're going to have to dye the parts if you really want them black.

I personally think black shows dirt off too much though.

i painted my center console IN EM1 with dupont trim panel paint and i have had no problems. i prepped it with the dupont wax and grease remover. ive had it painted for 4 months now. i dont use shine though. just wipe the dust of with a cotton cloth.

I've had issues with the Duplicolor (IIRC) trim paint used on the exterior upper grille base. It was fine for awhile, but began chipping away.

I dyed a replacement piece (painted one was junk by then) with a trim dye and it's been great since, as have all the other exterior parts I've dyed.
