Pioneer AVIC-F900BT...
So I was at the car alarm/audio shop the other day asking about navigation. The guy tells me about this nav/deck. The MSNDirect feature lifetime fot $150 seems pretty cool if it works as intended. I read some reviews online and it seems to have pretty good reviews with the 2.0 software.
Has anyone had any experience with this deck? I was quoted $780 installed for the unit. I am kinda just leaning towards buying one of those portable navs...the ipod interface on the deck does seem pretty bad *** tho.

Great deck....as long as the 2.0 update has been done, I have installed a good number, and returned a good amount as well. These decks had HUGE issues with boot up times, you thought your computer booted up slow.......you would be half way to work before the boot up screen went away. Boot up times are cut to around 25 seconds now, respectable.
It seems most of the issues have been solved with the update, which has bluetooth updates as well, which was also a issue. The fact that is unit is "Windows based", it has some cool features. The voice recognition also works fairly well

I'm sorta in the same situation. I've always wanted one and haven't paid much attention to them in the past few years since the prices were too high back then.
The F90BT and F900BT look really nice. I think I'll probably pick one up in the next couple of weeks.

You will need to have a double din kit fabricated, none of the "BIG 3" kit makers (Metra, Scoche, Best Kits) make a double din kit for the 99-03 TL. It will fit, but it takes some custom work.

I need big favor on this one. What do I need, if I have to install it by myself? I am a computer Tech and handle computer hardware, soldering easily.
1. Do I need to get a in Dash Installation kit? I have factory installed Double Din CD, receiver. CD barely works. When car is hot/summer times CD plays. Winter time of Cold SPring/summer mornings CD is pushed out immediately by CD player. SO I have decided to change this. GPS and DVD/CD player is on its way.
2. Auto stereo installer, Digital Car Stereo Guy is asking for about 150 bux.
3. If there is any suggestions, how to install instructions( for my honda) please help me..
I read about how to bypass it. I think that is pretty easy but when I read about connecting VSS and rear brake wires to make GPS work, i am kinda confused.. Another thought is, how to keep Satellite receiver disk on the dash board. How to hide all the wires.. what is exact location of ECM?
Thanks in Advance for any one who can help me.
That unit and your particular car and not ones that I would recommend cutting your teeth on. I would rate this as a difficult install even for a professional. There are hidden screws and a lot of panels that are easily damaged or marked by tools. The amount of money you're going to spend on tools and supplies will quickly outstrip the cost of paying a pro, and that's really not worth it unless you plan on making a career of this.
