2008 oil & filter change, and minder reset
Hey guys, very new to this forum (1st post!), so I apologize if this is a repeat.
I recently married a woman from NC who owns a 2008 Honda Accord. She has a maintenance contract with Hendricks dealerships, all in NC, but we're in the Knoxville, TN area and it's simply not worth it to drive just for an oil change.
I would like to do an oil and filter change on her car, and am wondering if I'll be able to do so? Any idea what type of filter, and type and amount of oil?
Also, is it possible for me to reset the service interval light?
Thanks in advance,
Brennan

Greetings Brennan.. all that stuff should be covered in your owners manual. For sure you can do it yourself and I urge you to do so if your mechanically competent.
Use OEM Honda filters, they are only about $5 each. you can switch viscosity's for your area as long as they meet all specifications set fourth in the Owners manual. The reset button is the trip/odo switch... set it to oil life then hold for a few seconds(10-15 sec)
Take care

Hi,
I have an 08 coupe lx-s i switched to mobil 1 synthetic oil and filter after the first 10,000 miles, im on 4000 miles on the first run of synthetic and oil life shows 50% still. To reset set vehicle to park, then turn key to the on position with car off, hid the odo button repeatedly to display the oil life, then press and hold for 10 seconds, after a beep (it should start flashing) hold for another 5 seconds to reset. The process to reset is also in the owners manual. Changing the oil besides that is pretty straight forward oil plug and filter are very accesible at least they are in the k23z3 (190hp 4cylinder) variant, and for my engine the oil is 5w-20.
Hope this helps

You own an 2008 4 cyl Accord and have done oil change on it I assume?
I have a 1999 4 cyl accord and I hate the location of the oil filter. It is located at the back of the engine block and I have to put the car on a ramp and go under to access it. I also don't like the 99 accord that it burns oil at about a quart per 1k miles after about 40 - 50k and beyond. Other cars like the Toyota don't do that. I know some say it's normal to burn oil. besides those two things. I think the accord is a good and reliable car. I'm car shopping now and I want to know if the current generation accord burns oil and where is the oil filter located?
Thanks
