1998 honda accord v6 coupe tranny problems
today when i was leaving the bank i slammed on my breaks to avoid hitting a car the all or the sudden when i hit the gas my car bearly went anywere and the d4 on the dash was blinking green even if it wasnt in drive 4 and it wont shift out of 1st gear and wont go past 20 mph so i took it to the nearst shop. any adivce on what i should do like if i shoud convert it to manual or just by a new automatic tranny?
I would first want to know what code came up for the Trans Control Unit.
Then there will be some FACTS to KNOW if the trans needs replaced.
So if you got a CEL from a spark plug misfire would you replace the engine?

You have several:

As you can see there are several solenoid packs.
Check the filter screens under the shift solenoids (#9 in the illustration) and check continuity while you've got them out.

i have a 1998 honda accord and the check engine light came on so i took it to the mechanic and the code that they gave me was po740 or tcc and they said that i should rebuild the transmission so i want to know if there is an easier way to fix the transmission instead of rebuilding it.
