Ok, I have this ECU that came from an old car I bought. Its a P05 converted to a P28 chipped with a Type-R program. I have no idea what program was used?
2 Years ago, I purchased a 00 Civic EX with a B18C5. It came with this ECU. It ran great, no CEL'S and never acted wierd. I sold the car a month after I bought it, but kept the ECU.
I now have a 88 CRX SI, converted to OBD-1. Im running a USDM P30 ecu right now with no problems. I installed the P05 in the CRX, and after about 20 miles and 3 start up's, I get CEL #1. The wierd thing is that the CEL light when checking the code is realy dull. What would cause this? Could it be they programmed the ecu for a secondary 02? Anyother CEL and the light is bright.
Now, after first putting the ECU in the car, the engine feels stronger. I have swapped them over 4 times tonight, and the P05 feels better than the P30. I also don't know if the chip is "reburnable". Is there any way to tell just by looking at it?
I will get pics tomarrow once I get a better camera.
Thanks for H-T's help, Alex

Concerning telling if the chip is re-burnable, yes you can tell by looking at the model number printed on it.
hello im new to honda-tech. i had a question and this thread is as close to the subject as i could find so i was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to swap a p12 ecu from a f22a1 non-vtec prelude seeing as how i have the same engine. I was reading that the p12 is more aggressively tuned and in the prelude it has +10 hp more than my accord...
