i just spun a rod in my EF and was wondering which parts are salvageable. can i keep the tranny I.M and what not.

 

well what do you plan on doing now fixing the engine by getting a new rod/bearings and maybe a crank or getting a new engine if so a d-series or a b-series?

 

im gonna jus get a whole new engine. pick up a d16z6 complete for pretty cheap but it doesn't come with a tranny. so can i reuse the tranny off my spun d16a6 and use it. i was wondering what parts i can salvage off the d16a6 as well and maybe sell em.

 

the crank and the rod with the spun bearing are probably not salvageable - everything else should be o.k.

 

yes the tranny would work and you could sell everything else that isnt damaged

 

ahh thanks guys. i'm actually driving the car tomorrow to get the motor swapped to a d16z6. and i'm gonna drive the dam thing there wish me luck!!!

 

lol if ya drive your gonna trash the rest of the motor. prob pistions, valves, block, ect. try and find a ride
