Default 99 si going cams, what best itr or ctr

i have a 99 si. i want to get some cams. which are better itr or ctr. personally this will be my first time doing this on my car. i seen others and help them on theirs but everytime we did it we change everything value, retrainers, ect. so this time im using somewhat stock cams so do i need to change the values and retainer or can i use stock one and slap the cams in?

you can use the stock valves and retainers if you wish to keep the 8200 redline. if yuou wish to go higher say the ctr redline, then you will have to upgrade the valve springs.

well with a higher duration cam such as the ctr cams, you will be able to get more power up higher. all you rally need is dual exaust valve springs to keep them from floating when you rev higher. to get the most out of a larger cam, you also should upgrade the intake manifold, have a good header (if your not going forced induction) such as a good try Y and higher compression pistions.

im not sure maybe someone else could shine in here, but ive heard about having to upgrade the lost motion assembly. once again dont quote me on that,
