The Y7 head will raise CR a bit and has quench zones, but it was designed with fuel efficiency in mind rather than performance.

Are you planning any port work to this head?

If so try and find an A6 head or a D15B7 head as they have more room for really working the ports out. The world famous Bisi uses the A6 heads for his non-VTEC D builds, and since he ran 10's N/A with a carb'd 1.5L engine I'd say he knows what he's doing.

What kind of car is it going into?

You'd also need a head gasket (order one for a 96-00 Civic EX as it's metal and cheap), intake gasket, exhaust gasket, valve cover gasket, and if you're doing a T-belt why not go ahead and do the water pump along with cam and crank seals?

Wires no. D15B7 distributors are supposed to bolt to D16Y7 heads, but i've never tried it.

You never stated what the engine was going in. If its going in a '92 - '95 get a D15B7 distributor, like I said they are supposed to bolt up to a D16Y7 head, but i've never personally tried it. If its going in a '96 - '00 get a D16Y7 distributor.

the D16a6 and d15b7 is almost the same exact motor except its stroked up, has a more aggressive cam, and stronger internals.... if you have the a6 head use it for that block makes life a lot easier... if you use the Y7 you will have to use one if the Y7,Y8 head bolts and of course the dizzy and timing. the head gaskets are all the same except for metal ones and the grafite things. only difference. =] whats wrong with your b7 head?

use d16a6 if your gonna go boost or all motor... use d15b7 if you want to make it easier on yourselfr. deck height really doesnt matter those blocks are identical. but the d16a6 timing will be a really weird issue with the y7 head.
