Default New Civic Si 4-door trans question

We are building a new Civic Si 4 door to run in Grand-Am Koni Challenge next season and are amassing spares.

My question is, does the RSX-S trans work in the new Civic?

I have access to RSX-S parts (trans), but just not sure if they are interchangeable.

TIA!

I have an opportunity to get a few inexpensively. Seems that the Civic ones are harder to find (for obvious reasons).

Did the RSX ever come with lsd?

No, it didn't. Some one correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum, but are all the gear ratios the same across all 6-speed k-series based transmissions?

DC5R's did, but not the USDM RSX-S.

05-06 RSX-S
1st: 3.27
2nd: 2.13
3rd: 1.52
4th: 1.15
5th: 0.92
6th: 0.74
Final: 4.77:1

06+ Civic Si
1st: 3.27
2nd: 2.13
3rd: 1.52
4th: 1.15
5th: 0.92
6th: 0.66
Final: 4.77:1

Only difference is in 6th gear, otherwise everything else is the same with respect to gearing between the two chassis.

Here's a very useful gear calculator from MFactory, might help you out.

nope. remember these are ratios. see here for more info: http://www.kitcarusa.com/kb.php?aid=91

also playing with the mfactory calculator can help you understand what changes in gear ratio will do to things like maximum speed in a gear.

in addition to 6th being shorter, the final drive in the CTR's K20A (not the ITR K20A) would make it feel even shorter.

i bet...if i didn't have to worry about highway driving i'd run a super short tranny.
