Default Would you run this piston? dropped valve :(

I dropped a valve right when I was cranking the motor over to start it after driving it hard for 3 days. The car didn't even start, I heard the knocking around when turning it over and stopped immediately, I feel fortunate it didnt happen at 9k haha.

I don't need to hear flaming about me being dumb or ghetto, I AM dumb, ghetto, and cheap lol, no need to tell me about it. If you think it may work then I'll probably use it.

I don't want to take it out if I don't have to because the motor is new, the rings have seated, and I just put it in, I don't want to go through all that **** again.

Its a ls bottom end with b16 pistons, p72 head (rip), toda b's, supertech springs and retainers.

Replace the piston as that damage in the piston will cause a hot spot.

I can't see the picture because of my firewall, but if you do use it, file down any edges to avoid hot spots.

I somehow sucked a bolt into my cylinder, it wasnt as bad as yours, but I took it out anyways and took it to the machine shop....they hit it with some glass beads and you can hardly tell it was damaged

I personally dropped a valve because I was a dumbass and impatient and did not do a valve adjustment before starting a fresh motor, the valve lash was way too tight (.000 in some spots) which caused the timing belt to slip, which bent the valves, and 3 days later dropped one. Just the head pf the valve just broke off, so at least I know my springs/retainer install was not faulty, the keepers were still in the retainer when I pulled the head, doing their job, just only holding a stem not a whole valve haha.

most of the time the face of the valve breaks off and takes a trip.

(overrev cause bent valve and stress cracks, then it breaks off)

You "might" get away with that with a forged piston but the stock ones are cast. There is a good chance that it is cracked now (you might even see it from under the dome). When it fails it will break into a hundred pieces and ruin the block and head.

Andy, get a hold of me, I have the stock JDM bottom end off my swap, The pistons are good and I happen to want some GSR Pistons, maybe we can work something out, I also have a bunch of extra GSR valves. Hit me up if you're interested.

the head is not bad, it just needs 3 new guides and 1 new seat, theres just a few tiny knicks in the c chamber, none are even deep, its at the machine shop getting a valve job, new valves, a new seat and new guides.

Yeah, had the JDM B16 swap in my DA forever, I just swapped to a B18A bottom end Joe had, I need to re-ring it though, it uses a little oil. And hey, IM me about the vision seat, Alex wants to talk to you about the Homie Hookup pricing.

you should replace the piston so you can have your motor running straight with no problems (hot spots)
