Cam Head Noise ?? Help

Default Cam Head Noise ?? Help

Just bought a 99 Si, here are the problems with it... please help

car cuts out in vtec and there are ticking sounds coming from the engine (i think its something in the top end), gets louder w/ acceleration

i think the car just needs Tuned and maybe a valve adjustment, but i am a NEWB so i dont know

mods:

Stock B16 bottom end
Built Head (Sk2 everything) - not ported at all
Buddy Club Spec 4 cams
Buddy Club Cam Gears
Sk2 IM
all basic bolt ons (Ex,Intake,Header,etc.)
converted to obd1 chipped p28

check ur oil level,,, and adjust your valves.... any codes???

no codes, just picked the car up last night... i was thinkin a valve adj.

BC spec 4 cams are very harsh and NEED a dyno tune to run correctly....or a base tune at the very least and it will still run like crap. I would say do a valve adjustment and then take it to your local speed shop immediatly and get it tuned. If its cutting out in vtec (where those cams do their work) that means its probably not getting enough fuel....this can be very bad cuz then there is a very direct possibility you could get a miss and that could lead to some severe engine damage.
High profile cams like the BC spec 4's work the valves harder and higher thus most people running them experience louder head noises....I could be wrong about that, but it sure was true on my friends hatch running b-series BC spec 3's.
