Well...I had the body shop fax me a copy of the estimate...$7,100...and they tell me that they're pulling the hatch off and the might have to replace the entire hatch(sorry, don't have enough time to get the J's racing hatch). I'm having them quote me for a few additional items while they're there, and yes I will be getting the FAL rear window.

I know that Yasu at Racing Craft( http://www.a-t-s-usa.com ) imports J's racing parts, it isn't listed on their website, and I don't want to have to deal with shipping from Japan as I am on a tight time table...the car will be done before I could get the part sent in from Japan...especially considering it's a rather large item, so it would be a fair amount of $$$ for rush shipping.

I would guess a lot, considering the 4-dr R is only 80 more lbs that the 2-dr. - I think it's all in the hatch.

a rear hatch weighs so much it's not even funny. I'm guessing it weighs about 75-80 pounds, add a few more pounds if it has the windshield wiper assembly and 3rd brake light.

i dont wanna sound like an *** but why is there so much involved in replacing the rear hatch an why is it so expensive that one guy said 3 grand, does it have to be aligned or somthin like that
