A/C fan doesn't turn off
i'm having problems with this ever since i got the car (or as long as i can remember). i'm not sure if all EF's are like that but here's what going on my car. i have a B16 EG on my other car (1995) so i was used to the temperature gauge going up really fast. my 1990 sedan takes long to reach the normal temp (middle of the gauge), and when it does the radiator fan comes on (which is still normal), but after a while, the A/C fan also comes on (im not using A/C) and doesn't turn off unless you turn off the engine. i've been wanting to time (ignition timing) my car but i can't do it because of this fan not turning off. if you turned the engine off, the A/C fan dies, but when to put the key to ON (before cranking), the fan stays on again. i can't figure out what's wrong. please help me here guys. is this normal for the EF? (this is the first time i had a car with the long thin radiator as opposed to the normal B16 which is half but 2 rows). thanks
SOund like ur fan is hardwired, mine is and when i turn the key forward it comes on.
Anyways its fine leave it alone, you can still time ur car, the fan has nothing to do with it.

i think it's not hardwired. during cold start, all fans (rad and A/C) are off. the first one to come on is the rad fan, which is normal. but after a while the A/C fan comes on even though i'm not using the A/C (is it because i have the long radiator and my cooling system can't keep up that's why the a/c fan is helping?).
also the manual says i should time the engine without any loads? i.e. fan, radio, wiper, etc
thanks
