If you want to tune your bumpstop behavior:

You might also consider posting in the classified section, as many people (myself included) are using GC extended upper mounts, and have stock bumpstops just sitting on a shelf somewhere. Mine are only kept in case I decide to put the stock suspension back on, but many won't need to keep them and would probably be willing to part with them for a little over the cost of shipping.

I imagine that the "stiff linear" have more of a linear curve to the compression resistance (spring rate),and start out stiffer. How stiff? Without a nice graph, it would be a wild guess.
Notice how the other link I posted (with tons of different bumpstops) has graphs showing the rate change under compression.
Progressive (and they look like the GC "soft progressive" visually):

Linear (or more so at least):

Of course, at this point, we're stepping right outside of my knowledge realm.
If you don't know how to tune with the bumpstops, then you can take the approach I do. Consider the bumpstop to be nothing more than a "last ditch safety for the shock", try to avoid much contact with it, and use a progressive stop to minimize the change in car behavior when contact does happen.
