I had and aftermarket steering wheel on my car and I find it too small for my taste, and I couldn't see my gauges. I put my stock one back on and now it makes noise when I do moderately sharp turns. I believe it is the belt that goes to the SRS unit under the dash.

Any ideas what this could be?

 

did you lube the hub and stuff when you swapped them?

 

Nope. I didn't lube it. It didn't make this sound when the aftermarket one was on. It sounds like something is tearing, but worse.

 

the stock steering wheels have all that plastic/rubber around them and sometimes will rub. look on the backside and underneath and make sure everything is clearing
