you can do this a couple of ways....one way i've heard of is taking them out and then heating them and taking them apart...you can tint the lens in that part or something like that...then just glue it back together and there ya go, but it's a lot easier said than done, trust me!

They don't look too bad, I kinda like smoked tails, at least the ones without those stupid covers over them.

Look for a tinting spray specifically for this sort of application, it might work the best for you.

go to ur local import shop and ask for some tail light smoke spray or try autodynamics.com they have it for $25 kinda pricy for such a small can of paint

i've heard of ppl saying testors makes a transparent smoke paint... only like 3-4 bucks too

here's a pic of mine

not smoked

got rid of it though... thinking about smoking it again

what I would do is spray layer at a time and see how dark it is and then if it is not dark enough then spray it again letting it dry completly every time.

i will get the paint, see what happenes. thanks everyone for the help. another ? for you guys. Alright now i ordered some gauges, air/fuel and the elec. oil pressure gauge. I understand for the air/fuel u have to tap into the o2 sensor where extacly is this located. (lx motor by the way). and then when i get inside theres 4 wires, how do i know which one to tap into. also how do i hook up the oil pressure. thanks guys

nah i haven't had any trouble and i'm 99% sure its legal. next time u drive take a look at some of the saabs and older vw jettas... they all have the clear part smoked from the factory
and when i signal with my red bulb it'd blink solid red (light red + black = dark red)
signal with white bulb it was kinda amber looking

thanks!

when i smoked mine with the expensive japanese paint... it lasted almost a year and i'm positive it would've lasted longer if i hadn't applied nail polish remover to it to test it... while washing my car i scrubbed the hell outta the tail lights with the rough brush part of the sponge and nothing

about the gauges........the air/fuel gauge should have a few wires coming from it. a ground and a power (obviously) and a signal wire that plugs into the 02 sensor. i believe all accords have a heated o2 sensor (4 wires: 2 for the heater and 2 signal wires) i would check out a wiring diagram for your car and find out where on the ECU the signal wires come in from the o2 sensor and splice your wire in there. i wouldnt mess with any of the wires coming directly out of the sensor. in regards to the oil pressure gauge, i believe youll have to get some sort of t-fitting for that application. hope this helps. email me if you have questions.

DeLiRiOu5 how did you "get rid of it"? Thinking of doing my 6th gen with this paint, has anyone been hassled by the cops because of this?
