Yes, the moonroof was available stock on the EKs overseas.

Yours is an optional piece of crap. That doesn't count.

This thread is about the factory sliding moonroof that came stock on MANY different hatches in Europe, Japan, Asia, and just about anywhere that isn't North America.

It's the exact same assembly and wiring as the moonroof in the coupes and sedans here in the USA. The part numbers are IDENTICAL.

I was always wondering, whether some1 in North America would just get the European/Asian EK roofs and install it into our hatchbacks. That be sickkk...

All you'd need is the new roof skin welded in. Then you'd have all the brackets. All that's left from that is a new dash harness and the roof harness.

yes I know. It be more or less the same as some1 putting in a CF roof. But what I meant was whether or not any1 in the US has done it b4. All I have ever seen are shitty after market sunroofs on the hatchbacks. They look soooo wrong in sooo many ways...

I've never seen anyone do it right. I know it'd be a pain to order a roof skin from the UK or Europe ... let alone get it posted to the USA.

As others have said, of course it's an option. It looks the same as the ones on the US EX/Si coupes and EX sedans.

It slides into the roof and the roofskin folds in along the edge of the moonroof. There is no seal on the roof side. There is a seal around the glass piece. There are no clips showing through the glass on the OE unit.

im gonna see if i can get a roofskin from overseas. I already have the factory ex sunroof and wiring harness. I dont believe you need a new dash harness.

Moon-roofs are pointless.

You have opened my eyes.

I'll go weld over it right now.

Too bad it really cools down that huge pocket of air in the back of the car. I don't like rolling the windows down because I have long hair and it just goes everywhere.

But really, your post was pointless.

Jeez! You don't bump an old thread to do your shopping! Try a Honda dealer overseas? No one knew 2 years ago either.
