Non vtec to vtec head swap-yes the FAQ was read and was searched.
1996 block with a 97 head.
Okay now that thats out of the way, i read and re-read the FAQ and did some searching and still have a couple of questions.
First off, im doing the swap for turbo application, 5 spd swap and for vtec of course. I like the tuneablilty, plus with the AEM F/IC it needs to be vtec to work right.
First question, is the pinouts. i see that they had to move all the idle controls and such, im quessing im not going to have to do this since its all the same. But i know i will have to add wires for vtec and change the pinouts on the ecu. which and what am i doing here, besides adding those 3 wires in. is the pinout the same?
second, is there a drain plug on the block like on the d-series, where all im going to do is pull the plug on the block for the oil passage for vtec?
third, i've been told and i've read that you can use the LX timing belt AS LONG as you're using the LX water pump as well. is that true?
and lastly, anyone know what the head will be able to handle? im looking at doing 300whp max with everything stock, but if thats not reasonable i'll build up the head before i swap it on.. as like a new cam, springs retainers and valves.
Am i missing out on anything else or is there anything else i should do?

Your wiring and harness mods may be answered in an H22 swap thread.
You're doing much the same, just omitting everything South of the Cylinder Head Gasket.
You'll have to wait on the other queries, I haven't had cause to do one of these (yet)
