Default Protect

So i just hop in my car and try to turn on the radio but all it says is protect and tahts all i hit all the buttons and nothing happened it worked fine earlier today but just now started to do this what can be the problem

Power to the radio was shut off, and now it's asking for a security code. That can usually be found on a sticker in a glovebox, or in the manual.

speakers are shorting out.... clipped signal. Find the pinhole reset on the faceplate and push it.

Sounds like you have a shorted wire somewhere and the HU is going into protect or safe mode to prevent damage. Go through all your wiring and check it out before resetting the HU VIA the pinhole reset button.
