Hello everyone. I was told that this site can help me with some of my issues i am having. I recently bought a 99 Civic EX 5sp with a Z6 head and Y8 Internals (rockers, camshaft/gear) and the CEL was on. I took it to Autozone to get some codes read and i had 3.

P1362- Ignition system/Misfire
P1362- TDC Sensor
P0505- Idle Air Control Valve Malfuncion

I checked the timing on it and it was off. So i redid my timing and swapped out my IACV to a known working one and bought new plugs and wires. I then went back to AutoZone and had my CEL cleared out.

Car went strong and great for about 3 miles. I got home and parked the car. About 1hr later i went and started it the CEL came on. I took it back to AutoZone and i have 1 code left which it's P1362.

Symptoms - Car has a hard time starting, but it will eventually start. Hesitation/misfiring.

Im thinking that i need a new Crank Angle Sensor but wanted to make sure before i bought one. Any help would be appreciated.

try switching out the distributor with a known working one and see if that fixs it. Thats where those sensors are at

 

I got a used dizzy coming in. I went home today and looked through the garage. Apparently my brother has a y8 block sitting around, low and behold there's a Crank Angle Sensor sitting there. So after the dizzy swap and if that doesn't work i guess i'll have to do the CAS. GOODLUCK to me!

 

I went to autozone and forked up the money for a new dizzy. It ran good for a while with no CEL then maybe about 3 hours later the CEL came on after i punched it in 3rd gear. Went back to autozone and hoped it wasn't a P1362. Luckily it wasn't, it was P0505- Idle Air Control Malfunction. The IAC that i put in from my brothers 95 hatch mustn't be working. So im on the lookout for a new/working IAC. Anyone here selling one?
