i have a 94 gsr with a sohc in it its obd1 and every once and a while when i am on the highway at a constant speed for a little bit the check engine light comes on. I can still drive and it doesnt drive any different. So i just turn the car off then right back on and it doesnt come on again till it sits over night.

Any ideas on what i could check??

could possibly be a sensor in the distributor.

i used to have that problem. IT never affected performance and it always started.Just sometimes it would come on and stay on till i shut the car off then its gone. But the only way to really fix it i heard is gettin a new dizzy.

Sounds like O2 sensor. It takes a bit for it to warm up, that is when you get a check engine light.

Have you tried checking for a code?

 

I never get it when people ask for diagnosis, when the CEL GIVES it to you! Check the CEL and get the code!
