Default WANT QUITE EXHAUST!!!! HELP

k guys i just installed a new APEX'I WS2 axle back exhaust on my custom 2.5 straight no cat exhaust system.... i do have my d series turbod.... but man i thought that the Apex'i would make it quiter which it is in a way but still has a raspy ricy sound at higher RPM without boost... in boost its different nice sound.... but anyway... i went to my exhaust shop that i go to all the time and they told me that i could get a resonator to quite it down.... he said it would not hurt my turbo performance sooo i was like okay... well let me think about it and talk to the homies on my forum... ssoooo here i am asking you guys... CAT OR RESONTATOR OR GLASSPACK AND WAT KIND????

long cherrybomb glasspack will suit you well. or put the cat back on with a short resonator. those are your only real options. the ws2 sounds great as a full system that includes the resonator. so get a resonator. your not gonna feel anybit of difference in speed on the butt dyno but the ear dyno will be much happier (not to mention the neighbor dyno)

You're turbo? The Apexi WS2 muffler is designed to provide backpressure for NA cars, especially with it's tight S bend inside the muffler. You may be losing power.

Anywho, that's not the point. The point is that the muffler isn't going to magically make your exhaust quiet. There are other elements that need to be there that aren't. Curves in the exhaust secondarily, but mostly a resonator is what keeps the raspiness at bay in exhausts. Get a resonator in and see what it does. You'll be another step closer to having the quieter exhaust you were looking for.

I had put a Apexi world sport 2 along with my 2.5" pipeing on my car and it sounded REAL LOUD (I have a B16)..so I got a 22" Magnaflow Resonator installed and now it sounds pretty good and deep now..I think you should just add a resonator, i think that you'll be more than pleased.

Amen dude, everyone told me how quiet it was going to be... Then I put the thing on. Holy **** it was loud and obnoxious. Installed an 18" resonator and boooom... cool n quiet..

I'd recommend WSII

ws2 muffler wont make it quit you deff gonna need a resinator as some stated a glasspack will work and some of the raspiness accures when there is cat

Yep! Resonator...

I got the same problem in reverse!

I'm thinking about pulling mine out - it's too quiet!

I gotta watch the tach when I'm leaving a stoplight, or turn my music off - 'cause I can't tell what the motor is doing by the exhaust tone...

hah, nice, must get also a resonator, because the cops just busted me for cruising with my "loud car".. the policeman sayd that my car has an illegal exhaust but i got a warning.. :D'

and hearing from the inside of my car, then it is silent from the saloon, because of the massive noiseisolation i made
