What would be the proper way to install these? The seals that go on the end of the cam shafts next to cam gears? Thanks

 

When you pop the old seal out, make sure you don't scratch the cam shaft. Lube the inside of the seal where the cam shaft goes through the seal. You can buy a cam seal tool from your local tool truck. I usually use a big socket, but you need to make sure you don't fold the inner lip of the seal when it slides over the cam. Make sure the seal is in straight or it will leak.

 

so in this pic is the cam seals, i would lube the red part right, and honda bond the blue? or just leave it? i have a performance parts lube, just use that? thanks

 

I use the following technique for installation:

1.
Cut a piece of plastic from a plastic soda bottle. Cut it to fit as described below.

2.
Make a cylinder out of the plastic and insert it into the new seal. Use motor oil to pre-lubricate surfaces that come into contact in the next steps.

3.
Slide the plastic cylinder (with new seal) over the crankshaft end. Be careful that the seal's lips yada do not fold over.

4.
Push the new seal into place with a piece of pipe, sockets, washers or whatever fits over the crankshaft end and can push against the new seal evenly.

5.
Pull the plastic cylinder off.

This is not a perfect technique but it can be darn hard to get this seal on straight otherwise.

 

Yes, lube the red part. I use bearing grease. The blue part does not need to be sealed with Honda Bond. Just make sure the seal is installed evenly, and the sealing suface and cam are not scratched. It should seal just fine.
