ok i was putting on my new jdm shifter ****, and at first when screwed on it went on wron and broke a few of the threads, so my question, can i cut the shifters a littel to the good threads or will it be to short ?

 

and by cuttingthe shift i mean the shifter has about 1 inch of threads 1/8th of the is broke can i cut that off o no ??
