Default SI Gauge Faces (will it matter)

Ok, so im putting a b18c1 into my 95 del sol s on thursday, will i need to swap out gauge cluster to a del sol that had a b16 in it or will the speed and tach line up fine??? Basically will the tach be fine even tho it only goes to 8000(i think) instead of 9500...and i would imagine speed wouldnt be a problem. Thanks for any help.

it will work fine. if you want the correct redline and speedometer though you will have to get the vtec model gauge cluster. if you dont mind having the redline look like it is lower then your fine.

cliffs: it will work, not a necessity

i was thinking the speedometer wouldnt matter because of the speed position sensor...is the speedometer on the vtec model different then the s and si???

also would just swapping out gauge faces work??? wouldnt the intervals between numbers on the tach be smaller?

Not sure about the del sols, but on the 5th gen civics both the LX and EX/Si tachs go to 9000RPMs but where the redline is marked off is different. However, there is no need to swap the gauge faces. Simply swap the entire cluster, you can swap the speedometer head from the original cluster if you wish to retain your mileage.

my only problem is is finding that gauge cluster for the del sols with the b16's. but nonetheless i will eventually figure something out, my main concern was the speed lining up correctly
