2006 Civic Si wont start
I'm posting this for a buddy of mine, and I hope someone can help me out. My friend has a 2006 Civic Si. Last night he went to start it and it wouldn't even turn over. What's strange is that when the key is in the II position, all the dash lights came on and started flickering when you would hit the brakes or the clutch pedal. When he would try to start it, it would make a grinding noise. Sounded electrical. Only mods done to the car is a SRI, and some guages on the door pillar. Any ideas what could be causing this?

electrical grinding? his dash lights are nice and bright? do his headlights work? if they do its the starter... sounds stuck might get lucky and be able to bang on it with a broomstick and get it loose... my winter vehicle is a 99 accord and i have to bang the starter once in a while.... since it sits most of the summer
Starter.. or when you were wiring the gauges somehow the clutch switch got loose/unplugged and it will not activate the starter unless the clutch is activated.
also... is the security light flashing on the dash after you try and start it? Could be a factory anti-theft module not allowing the vehicle to activate the starter.
Check the negative battery terminal, make sure there's no corrosion and make sure its tight.
good luck

Definately the starter, how many miles on the car???? Cause the battery is supplying the juice to crank the starter but the starter is not engaging??? DO teh broom stick trick if it is stuck it will come loose or else just swap the starter with a new one....should be straight forward task...and also should be considerably cheap as well...

I think it's the battery, but something else I had problem with was if your SRI filter is loose, car will shutdown. And if the sensor on that arm has control over start and stop then it might be bad also.
If it's the battery you can usually tell because the dash will light up and when you crank, the dash light will flicker and goes off.

Please help! I've got a similar problem. 2006 Civic si would not crank or start. Changed starter to no avail. Checked the battery but it seems fine. We've checked a few grounds but not all of them yet as some are hidden. It just wouldn't crank one day. All dash lights come on but nothing. After messing with it a couple weeks it now makes a crazy clicking noise from the fuse box under the hood but after a few tries will finally just turn over and start. Could it be ignition related? TIA!
Please let me know what, if anything, you find out as I am dealing with the same problem. I've replaced the battery and starter as well. Sometimes it simply won't start.
Thanks 😁
