Default 99 Civic won't crank

I have been reading various threads re: no start
Its a 1999 Civic DX, starter clicks once when key is turned, does not turn over. Dash lights stay on the entire time, headlights dim but only very slightly.
Battery reads 12.6 V. Tried tapping the starter to no avail. Push starts just fine. Where do I go next?

Have your battery and starter tested at the auto part store. You can remove both and take it in..

Make sure the one spade connector that goes to the starter solenoid is firmly attached, if it's loose it will not start even when tapping the starter.

Auto or manual transmission? If the latter, check whether the rubber stopper at the top of the clutch pedal has fallen out.
