i have heard horro stories of rota breaking beacause of powdercoating.. but im not sure if powdercoating them was the reson for breakage.. they are powdercoated from rota.. so any way.. any body powdercoated there rota wheels?? and not had any problems?
My Rotas came painted, not power coated.
Part of powder coating involves heating the metal. High enough heat can reduce the strength of a cast wheel. Whether or not the heat involved in powder coating is high enough, I can't say (never done the research).
I have been told it weakens a cast wheel, but one should never take "I was once told" as absolute truth. In other words, sorry I can't answer the question.
