Default k20a2 into EP3 swap questions, swap done, wont start

ok, heres the deal, my buddies doin the swap, everythings done. but the car wont start.

k20a2 engine
k20a3 trans
k20a2 ecu
k20a2 engine harness
k20a3 chaging harness
k20a3 knock sensor

sounds like the injectors arent firing. i tried finding a writeup to see if theres anything electrical has to be done. but no such luck finding anything

the only thing i found is that the k20a2 knock sensor has to be rewired, but thats all i found. the stock k20a2 knock sensor was broken when he got the engine, so he swapped the one from the a3(wondering if thats my issue, or the pinout is different on the charging harness)

also when you go to start the car, the check light flashes 5 times then shuts off(my buddy has my scanner, and i cant get a hold of it). any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks in advance

Dan

More than likely the immobilizer because of the K20a2 ECU.

Try plugging in your PNF or w/e the EP3 ECU is just to see if it starts?

Don't bother with the A2 ECU right now. Get the car to start on the A3 ECU, then figure out the immobilizer issue with the A2 ECU.

If it won't start on the A3, you'll never know if its the immobilizer or another problem if you try using the A2.

that is true, you must use the ecu of your own car, that would otherwise have to reprogram your key with the new ECU, for that reason the car did not turn on

No. There's another problem. The a2 can be ran on the a3 ecu. Just don't rev high before you get the car to Acura to reprogram.

This swap is as straight-forward as it gets. Check the part numbers on the a3/a2 knock sensors. If they are different, get an a2 KS. If they are the same, recheck your wiring.

ok, yea the two knock sensors are different, i just wasnt 100% sure if that would keep the car from starting or just throw a check light for knock sensor, BUT, if that is the case, wouldnt it still start with the a3 ecu using an a3 knock sensor? the a2 harness was untouched from the time we got the engine, the only thing thats re-used from the a3 was the trans, knock sensor, and the a3 charging harness, and i think maybe the a3 alternator. again i didnt do the swap, he just called me for troubleshooting

Do you have any RSX Buddies with an 02-04 rsx running k-pro? Ask them if you can use their ECU just to start and test your car. It will bypass the immobilizer and then you can check on the knock sensor from there.

ok, from what he told me today, he swapped back to the a3 ecu, and now the injectors are clicking but it still wont start. theres no differences between the a3 charging harness is there?
