removing a 96-00 civic dash...please help
Ok so i have searched and havent found much. Can someone please help me out and direct me to a DIY or some sort of instructions? Thanks in advance!
its straight forward... undo the steering collumn and then look for all the dash bolts and then unclip some wires on the underdash fusebox and take out the cluster then you are good
Dont forget that 1 bolt on top of the dash. I couldnt figure out why mine wouldnt come out until I realized that there was 1 bolt left.

hondahookup.com make an account there and view the 96-00 manual. i forget what page in the manual it is exactly. i believe its 1300's but yeah it shows all locations of bolts and etc.
There are quite a few bolts/screws to take out when removing the dash. Most are hidden or on a kinda funky spot that makes them a tad tricky to get to...the actual tricky part is finding them.
I'm going off of memory alone so bear with me...I might miss something.
As stated earlier...there is one at the top center of the dash where the dash meets the windshield under that little cover plate.
If I'm not mistaken...there is one at either side of the dash. You must open the doors and remove the cover plates on either side to access these fasteners.
Remove the center console section with the cupholder and there should be a couple under there as well.
I can't remember exactly if there was any main fasteners behind the radio console so you'd probably want to try all the other locations first and see if the center of the dash is still in there good. If it is the case, you'd have to remove the hazard and defogger switches as there are retainer screws behind these 2 switches that help to keep the radio console in place. Other radio console fasteners would be accessed from underneath.
Those should be the "main" fasteners for the dashboard. It should be good and loose at this point. There will obviously be a few hidden screws or bolts here and there. Some of the dash wiring might be fastened to the inside of the dash itself and you will either have to undo the clips or unplug something somewhere to facilitate the removal.
If you go into the "96-00 FAQ sticky" there isn't a write up on the EK chassis but you can use the EG as a similar guide. The mounting for the dashes are not that much different...if at all.
