Battery Question
So my brother was at the dealer getting some service done to his EP3, and they said that he will need a new battery soon. I think they quoted it for a little over a hundred dollars. He has been thinking of getting an Odyssey Battery, but doesn't know which one to get. Which ones do you guys recommend? Should he just get a factory one from the dealer? I've looked at some Odyssey batteries and thought that Odyssey PC 545 Battery would be alright for him, but am not sure. Here's a link to it:

Duralast from Autozone with an extended warranty, but that's just me.
Their prices are fairly cheap and have a good amount of CCA's. Luckily for me, I have a friend who works at one near my area and is able to give me a discount, that's if I may ever need a battery... which is in the near future.
The price will also be chopped by maybe $10-12, if you bring to them the core. And free recharge/installation, too.
On another note, there is no need for buying an expensive battery (i.e., Odyssey, DieHard, Optima Red/Yellow/Blue Top, Interstate, etc.). It would be quite pointless in my opinion unless your car is equipped with winches, audio systems, lights, etc.

Yeah unless he's building a complete track car and looking for every single little pound in savings... I would just go to a car parts store like autozone or advanced etc. and just get a good battery from there.
I've heard the odyssey are actually pretty strong durable little batteries though. I would just get a group 51 from Napa or something. Nice no questions warranty. I still have the stock battery in my Civic and because of my newly added audio system I am guessing it won't last much longer. I plan on getting a Orbital 9986 which is about the size of our stock batteries but stronger and non completely sealed.

Whether he's building a dedicated track car or not, it doesn't matter. It simply does not apply to it. Considering his car doesn't go off-road and climb steep hills (like those who drive Jeeps, etc.), there is really no need for one. Off-road applications only should rely on those type of batteries I've mentioned above.
And plus, they weigh a tad more than normal batteries. Unless he's building a track car? You just might go ahead and buy a Spoon battery that weighs only 13lbs. Track ****** generally carries less weighted batteries, correct? Unless he's building a track car... oh, please.

Correct.

I will only say this, get one if your car is in need for a high demand of electricity. That is all.

If it's just going to be daily driven and see occasional racing in the weekends then it would be pointless. If money isn't an issue and you have the extra coin to spend, go ahead. But I rather save it for something else than just a silly 'ol battery.
Tell your brother to get the Duralast from Autozone. They are cheap and reliable like those that are expensive (such as Optima, etc.) They're created by Johnson Controls Industries too, one of the top three leading manufacturers today.

I only buy DieHard batteries from Sears. They have the Platinum line that are sealed like Optimas, but have a better warranty and seem to be constructed better. My Optima I had a while back was crap.
