Clutch info you might find usefull....
Having just bought a clutch I wanted to compare other brands as far as power rating.
Clutchmasters (stages based on FLYWHEEL horsepower)
Stage 1 - 70% over stock
Stage 2 - corrected 70%
Stage 3 - 110%
Stage 4 - 170%
Stage 5 - 200-400%
ACT (based on amount of torque generated)
Too many different combinations to list but the range is from STOCK to almost 500 lbs of torque.
havn't checked out other major brands yet... I thought it was interesting that one company rated flywheel horsepower and one rated using available max torque.
I honestly would go with one rated based on torque and not flywheel horsepower.
Now i know why I burned through my clutchmasters stage 3 so fast..

I have always wondered about this also. When I used to own my mustang, after market transmissions were rated in torque handling capability. I am sure horsepower has bearing though, since torque and rpms which will make more power will also make more heat.
