Default H&R Wheel Studs

I just had my spare front knuckles worked over with new bearings, ball joints, and H&R studs. My mechanic called and said they're done, but the studs are sorta loose in the hub and wiggle a slight bit. Anyone else have H&R studs?

they shouldn't be loose...maybe they are not the right size

in our race cars we weld the studs in!

Skunk2 recommends welding for their long studs, too. Just an FYI.

Yep, I put those on my rear hubs. And two on one side were slightly loose shortly afterwards. Now every once in a while when changing rear tires, one will actually get pushed through. And I have to be careful to draw it back through with the lugnut. I haven't had the case yet where the studs have spun (crossing fingers) and so far its just those two...

At first I liked H&R's since I had tried the Skunk2 ones up front. And I found those would "mushroom" all that extra material that is ribbed where it meets the hub holes. Some of this material would get trapped between the back of the hub and the "head" of the stud, so the stud wouldn't be straight and you couldn't repress it a second time since so much of the material was gone. The H&R's didn't deform and could be repressed like the stock studs. So I'm kinda torn, since the Skunk2's haven't gotten loose.

A lot of people don't like the quality of the Skunk2 and I'm sorta waiting for that to catch up. I hear an alternative to the Skunk2's is the ARP ones. Made in the USA vs. Taiwan and cheaper too. Get the ones for a GM application and its the correct 1.5 pitch.

The GM ARP studs are oversize and require redrilling the hub. Some have managed to force them in. No thanks.

btw, i ordered 32 wheel studs from Acura that fit the rear of the TL. supposedly they are longer, and seem to have a different part number than the fronts, dont know why. and are still $3 each. they should arrive soon based on when my card was charged, so ill let you guys know how it turns out.

when i bashed a new oem honda one in my rear, it fit perfectly.
