that hard stuff on the floor of the car that is impossible to get up when you take the carpet up, what is it and how do you get it out besides grinding it?

 

get some dry ice, break it up, spread it out, go get something to drink and a snack, come back out and that stuff will be all warped up off the inner floorboard.

or you can do it the hard way with a chisel or heat gun.

it is sound deadening stuff, similar to bedlinder spray, thats all.

no it actually removes it a lot cleaner than a chisel or a heat gun. i wish i had some pictures for you.

on my 97 hatch, i used a heat gun in the rear of the car and it looks like crap. for the front section of the car, i used dry ice and you can hardly tell that there was a layer of that stuff on the floorboard.

just wear gloves of course. also, when you buy the dry ice it will most likely come in large chunks, i broke the chunks up to so it would cover more surface area.

 

I didnt have the time to find dry ice so i just used what i knew would work.
