Well I got the Fuel Pump in the mail and had it in the car within 30 min :D, Here is a lil write up on what I did:

Acura Intega Fuel Pump Install

Walbro


1. Remove the back seat, remove the cover using a philips head screwdriver. Then remove the 6 (10MM) bolts supporting the pump inside the gas tank. Also disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connections to pull the Pump out at a 45 degree angle.


2. Remove the pump from the brace by unpluging the connection then removing the clamps, lifting up on the pump to get the bottom lose the pull outward.

3.Install the new pump using the new fuel hose cut a bit shorter due to the larger size of the walbro. Use stock as a comparison to get a general idea. Connect the electrical connection reusing the plastic connection lock.

(Note. I had to reuse the screen)

4. Reinstall by CAREFULLY sliding the new pump in at that same angle, tighten the 10MM bolts then reconnect the fuel hoses and electrical connections. I tested before I tightend just to make sure. Then just screw the cover back on and install the back seat.


All DONE!

* i like the, not responsible for any damage to your vehicle note! ha good stuff, i wish all honda's were like this, my girls 89 hatch has the gas level sensor there and her fuel pump is towards the back of the tank, thus you have to drop the tank to change the pump.

Actually I didn't disconnect the battery but I did disconnect the main before working on it. My alarm doesn't like the battery to be disconnected.

Not a very detailed writeup, but enough to get the gist of what to do if this is the first time you are doing it (like me this evening). Once you get the rear seat out of the way, it literally takes a minute to remove the fuel pump covers to access the fuel pump assembly. Removing the oem fuel pump out of the assembly is what takes the longest. You need to disconnect the electrical connection from the assembly to the oem pump (be careful here), wiggle the gasket out at the bottom of the pump and pry off the circular little metal holder on the bottom that keeps the strainer fixed to the pump. You also have to get the short hose off and all this w/o damaging the assembly. Then to install you just do what you did in reverse. It's easy in theory (like many things on automobiles but different once it's hands on...there's usually some kind of damn unexpected extra problem solving). It took me about an hour. I had to reuse the strainer b/c the kit I bought had a strainer that did not fit properly. I just installed an airtex aftermarket oem replica. Nothing special. It works fine though.
