Default Need some input on SuperTech Valves in my Ls/Vtec

Okay got my Ls/vtec running, 9:1 comp ratio for turbo setup. Gsr head built with supertech valves, dual valve springs and retainers. Had local machine shop do all the work... Heres the question, I had a gsr with hondata s300 with the same skunk 2 intake manifold and injectors that im using on the new ls/vtec. So I figured everything would be fine to just start the engine. when i start the engine it wouldnt idle and i've checked everything twice and check the valve clearances again. it will idle at 1800 but when it falls below that it will make random really loud taps, like the valve springs are popping. but when its idling above 1800 it sounds fine. the tapping sounds happen when it idles down and is about to go dead. But im still curious as to what the sounds are... anyone got any advice? Its not normal honda tickling, the pops are pretty loud.
Stock gsr cams are being used.
