Default B20z

hey. there is very little support in the truck/suv sections
so ima try my question here, cause i kno many people swap it into civics.

im planning to get a 2001 crv. it has the b20z that get
about 140hp and 130tq(give or take 5).

for its weight, around 3200-3300lb its weak.
i want to do a lot of offroading with it so i need it to be more powerful.

My question is, is there a lot of aftermarket support that will
keep the motor still reliable?(cams, camshaftes, forged pistons, ect. NO BOLT-ONS)

THNX!

well I dont think that I have ever heard of a question like that but I can tell you that there is plenty of parts out there for the vehicle, but I think that your biggest problem will be most of those parts are designed for the higher rpm band vs the lower which you will need for off roading. If you really have the money though then forged internals and a small turbo would probally give you enough to move around with ease.

On a stock B series you could reliably make ~300whp. I wouldn't push it on the B20 since the sleeves are weaker than any of the other B's. I'm not sure of the strength of the drivetrain, but as for the internal components, they'll handle around 300whp with a good tune.

the main thing would be to get a small turbo so there is little to no lag. a bigger turbo wont build pressure untill higher rpms and would be pointless for offroading.
the turbo will be very reliable if you just get a good tune and maintain it properly like a turbo timer.

Like gsrhatch2356 said, unless you get a smaller turbo like a greddy 15g, you wouldnt have a very wide powerband. Won't be able to rev high with it since the motor isnt built for high revs. If you take the motor apart, thats a different story.
