Default map light/homelink

Does anyone know if you can take the homelink/map lights out of a 2000 and up and install in a 96 civic ex?

'98-'00 EX and Si trims had maplights. They're the same exact assembly.

So... yes.

I went on a website that has OEM genuine honda parts, the one for the 2000 SI is only a Map Light, i'm trying to get the homelink, so i can use it with my garage door opener. But i'm not sure if the sunroof will interfere with that big console

I've never seen an option for Homelink on 6th gen Civics. So far I'm seeing it for '05+ only.

A lot of wiring changed in 1998 and 1999 though (and probably later again).

So far all the HomeLink assemblies I see are really big. WAY too big to have fit cleanly in your roof.

Find out what years and models the HomeLink was available for. Find out if there were different models of HomeLink. Some might be smaller and suit your needs better.

Here's an image I found.
