Default help out a 1st timer seem to be getting a lot of spattering asap!

well i am painting my floor boards. i'm using a ppg epoxy primer with the correct 2:1 ratio with catalyst. no i just bought a gravity feed hvlp. harbor freight spray gun. i have been messing around with all of the controls and can't seem to get it to apply smooth without spattering. i'm running about 40psi. any tips?

I also noticed the same thing on that same gun. I found out that the culprit was the end cap if not totally tight was allowing paint to seep around the needle and build up droplets eventually getting carried away by the spray and creating splatter.

if its the 43430 gun start with the trigger pulled the adjustment on bottom of the gun where the air goes in pull the trigger with the psi at 50 and listen till the noise stays the same and dont touch it again then 3 turns out on the fluid and full out on the fan pressure arround 50psi with the trigger pulled thats where I start then its just maybe a 1/4 turn on the fluid in or out to get the nice cigar shape with nice droplets like the link i sent

set you pressure at 25 psi and turn the fluid control valve down. what you were trying to do was send to much paint of the gun wayyyyy to fast
