LS SWAP IN A EG!
hey guys! i have a question? im going to pick up a 91 integra gs with a ls motor and the head as been port and polished but the bottom block has a hole in the 4 cylinder wall! so i was wondering if i could take the head off the ls and put it on another ls motor because i have another one on the side! and the reason why im grabbing the whole gs is beacuse my sohc in my eg is blown and the car has all the parts i need to do a b series swap! well i wanna know if i can take the parts off the gs and complete my swap! if you guys can help me that would be really appreciated!! thanks guys!

well i know that but what i was trying to say is that since there is a hole in the cylinder wall should i be worried that the head can be messed up?

Don't buy it, you're not going to be any further ahead, you will still need a tranny ('90 - '93 integra trannys use a cable clutch as opposed to the '92 - '95 civics and '94 - '01 integras use a hydraulic clutch. You will also still need an ECU (Pre '92 ECUs are OBD0, '92 - '95 are OBD1

look the head over really good. take it to a machine shop if you want and they can use magnaflux to look for cracks in the head or anywhere else. there are other things you can use to to check to but i cant think of them right now

It could be messed up, theres not really anyway of knowing until you pull the head, i've definately seen it happen though, rod broke, piston came up and hit the head. '90 - '91 B18A heads don't flow particularly well if i remember correctly btw. those engines only put out 130HP at the crank. the '92 - '93s are rated a little better at 140HP.

Bent valves and in some cases the outline of the piston in the combustion chamber. Ideally take it to a machine shop and let them look it over.

The axles will work as long as you use the intermediate shaft and transmission axle seal that goes with them. The shift linkage i'm not sure about. '94 - '01 defiantely works, as does the '99 - '00 civic si linkage. Honestly if thats all you want out of this car you would be better off just buying the parts you need, it'll cost you less.
