How much Hp do the H23 rods hold?
I'm completely rebuilding my motor, I was wondering if I'd be safe using stock H23 connecting rods since compression is at 11:5.1, and I'm gonna use stage 3 crower cams with ported and polished head, will the stock rods be ok?
i dont see u having a problem with stockers.... if i was u i would go ahead and get some aftermarket rods though, then u know u dont haft to worry about it..
Just for info. I was quoted 469.00 and about a 5-7 week wait with one person to have h23/f22 rods worked on.
This price included:
shot peened
arp rod bolts
rod bolts installed, caps shaved and honed back to normal size to eliminate the oval shape caused by the new arp rod bolts
LE rebushed to accept a larger 22mm wristpin
For that much money the aftermarket rods that are available or a custom set sounds like an easier and more cost effective way.
Especially considering H23/f22 rods most likely have way over 100,000 miles on them by now.

yes the stock rods should be fine to use i boosted mine with the stock rods at 5psi with stock internals with 70,000 on my motor and it was fine...you will be fine with the stock rods theyr strong enough
Not to thread jack, but I've looked on ARP's website and cannot find the part number for the H23 rod bolts that everyone keeps talking about. Another thing, do you torque them to the h22 specs or the h23 specs. I thought h23 specs were too loose compared to the h22 that's why people keep spinning a bearing. If I'm wrong please correct me. I'm just going off speculation myself.
