Default 98 EX Keyless Entry

It's time for a new cd player in my DD. How can I tell if my car has the factory keyless entry? I've got the stock radio and I've read about a special harness that plugs into the stock radio and your aftermarket head unit. If my car does have the factory keyless I'll need a remote. Does anybody know of where I can get new remotes and how to program them?

Thanks in advance!

All 98 EX's have the keyless built into the radio. The harness you speak of is to relocate the OEM radio so you can retain the radio. To program, press the little bar between the 2 buttons to the right of the radio after turning the key on. After the locks cycle (while continuing to hold the button) press the lock button on each remote you have. Turn key off. Shut the door and try the keyless (it won't work with the door open...)

^^ thats true... you can even make an extension harness and install it under the pass seat.. so it can be easily accessable when you need to reprogram the phobs

i run into this alot at work and i find the best solution is to just go aftermarket keyless. its alot less work then extending the harness for keyless and youll have more range and more options for upgrading (alarm, remote start, etc.). also while you take your dash apart you will have access to all the wires you need and you can pick up a keyless system for pretty cheap. just my 2 cents

p.s youll be able to pick up one of the systems for less than the cost of getting that harness and a new remote

If you do go aftermarket, make sure you tie the dome light wires back together at the harness that used to plug into the radio. Otherwise, they won't work when you open your doors anymore....
